Malcolm Smith, a pioneering figure in motorcycling and a beloved ambassador of the sport (read the The Man Who Changed Motorcycling article), passed away peacefully at his home in Riverside, California, on November 26, 2024, at the age of 83.
Born on March 9, 1941, in Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada, Smith developed a passion for motorcycling at a young age. He began racing at 15, on a 1949 Matchless 500cc bike, in Southern California. But his association with Husqvarna motorcycles in the ‘60s propelled him to international acclaim.
